Quianna Canada’s Sup-advocacy page.

On Quianna Canada’s sup-advocacy page, you will find that I actively listen, gather facts, and liaise for women and the transgender community.

Today I was informed that a marginalized person could not locate this page on Google. Male asylum seekers from Islam within the International Protection process, and their advocates, have consistently delisted this page from Google search results. While the service is showing on Google in Sweden, and possibly in Ireland, we are not sure for how long.

These services are important, especially for those who cannot rely on traditional services to listen and offer support. If you discover this page has been delisted from Google search results in the future, join Makayla and I in submitting a complaint to one of the following:

The more complaints submitted, the quicker we can stop anti-trans hate against and abusers from limiting the services marginalised communities need.

Regional: Direct Provision

Living in Direct Provision can be difficult for members of the the LGBT community. There is often a Vertical Power Differential. This is where a character attack is launched by individuals with a significant power differential (e.g., between the attacker and the target). It cannot be denied that asylum seekers with seniority, centre managers and staff have a level of rank. While not every asylum seeker, centre manager or staff targets the LGBT community, some this community can find it difficult to access adequate support. LGBT persons, specifically trans women, have a unique character vulnerability to which exposes them to attacks from residents and staff, which requires sufficient support.

Are You A Victim of Rankism in Direct Provision?

Rankism is abusive, discriminatory, and/or exploitative behavior towards people because of their rank in a particular hierarchy. Rank-based abuse underlies many other phenomena such as bullying, racism, hazing, ageism, sexism, ableism, mentalism, anti-semitism, homophobia and transphobia. The behavior is employed to demean, wound, harm, and damage the mental and emotional state of the individual.
